Exceeding Riches in Christ - Ephesians 2:7

In my last post I shared how God had made us sit in the heavenly places with Christ and today's verse is actually connected to that post. Paul went further in Ephesians 2:7 to add the effect of our rights in Christ as we are seated in heavenly places - "that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."

What would you say to someone who comes to you and announces to you that someone who was related to you had left you a huge sum of inheritance in his will? if you are not aware of this person's relationship with you and that there was even such a person, you would think this is absurd - why would someone who does not know you bequeath you an inheritance and what more a HUGE inheritance. Some might even ask disbelievingly, "are you sure?'

Well, the truth of the matter is that this Person who included us in His will was none other than Jesus Christ who is the Son of God. He is a relative because He took on flesh and blood so as to associate Himself with us and since He Himself is the Son of God, obviously He is super super rich - hey He created the whole universe with God the Father.

So when Paul wrote in verse 6 that God made us sit in the heavenly places with Christ, He also automatically set us up to receive the blessings that come along with the seat of honor. So if we believe Christ and have received Him into our lives, He is in our lives and because of His Presence, blessings get attracted to us. Are you ready for your blessings?

A New Believer's Prayer

Thank you Father for loving us so much that You sent Your precious Son Jesus Christ to this world to die for all our sins. I receive Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Savior.
Thank you that all my sins have been nailed to the Cross on Jesus at His death and because He died in our place, I am now saved forever. I have been made righteous in Your sight because of what Jesus did and I can now enjoy Your blessings over my life. Thank you for the privilege of being called Your Child and for the Gift of Your Holy Spirit in my life. AMEN
